Attention Bus Riders! This week, September 23-27, is Bus Ridership Week! Each year, the state determines transportation funding for school districts by how many students ride the bus to and from school. If your student is assigned to a bus, please be sure they ride this week as much as possible. We appreciate your support in helping secure funding for bus transportation!

Last week many of our Kindergarten students got a "Jump Start" into the new year! Students were invited to attend our Kindergarten Jump Start event where they met other students, spent time with our Kindergarten teachers, engaged in activities and play, and became familiar with our school. We are so excited to see ALL of our students when we start the 24-25 school year next week!
Don't forget to stop by this Thursday between 1:00 and 3:00 to Meet the Teacher!

We're halfway through Summer Reading Camp! Students from the Roberson district in 2nd and 3rd grade have been working HARD these past couple of weeks. They've fine-tuned their phonics skills, studied main ideas of texts, strengthened their reading fluency, engaged in collaborative tasks, and had FUN! Thank you to the staff who are making this experience a success!

The 2023-2024 school year has come to an end. It has been amazing to watch the students grow over the past year. While we are excited for summer, it is always bittersweet to finish the school year and say goodbye to old friends. Congratulations, Amy Romagnuolo on your retirement! We will miss you! Have a great summer ACES family! #bcs #ACES #ramfam

Congratulations TC Roberson Class of 2024!!!!! Seeing the graduates parade through their alma mater is always so much fun for all the ACES students. What a sweet tradition :) Let's go, Rams!!! #ACES #RAMFAM #BCS
Last week ACES kindergarten took an end-of-the-year field trip to the WNC Nature Center. Students have spent the last few months learning about different stories from around the world, including books about animals. What a great way to wrap up this unit and this busy school year! #ACS #WNCnaturecenter #BCS
ACES media center fun! Students in fourth grade study the state of North Carolina and finish off the year creating replicas of lighthouses from the coast. Students always love seeing the 4th grade showcased lighthouses in the library. 4th grade also learns about electricity and conductivity in science. This week, 4th-grade students had the opportunity to create circuits to turn lights on using Snap Circuits. The end of the year is upon us. Only a few more weeks to go! #bcs #ACES
REMINDER: Wednesday 5/15 is an early dismissal day.
We had an amazing day celebrating the achievements of our Special Olympics athletes! See more photos in the "news" section.
ACES second graders from Ms. Crowell's class finally got to meet their pen pals from Ardenwoods! It was a joyous reunion filled with laughter and stories. Our kids were thrilled to put faces to the names they've been writing to all year long. It's amazing how much joy and wisdom can be exchanged through writing. Moments like these remind us of the beauty of human connection and the power of friendship across ages.

Wow! What an amazing evening of music and dance! The third graders did a fantastic job and a special thanks to Ms. Melody for orchestrating this event. #bcs#aces🐼🌙
Last week ACES held a transition night where students and caregivers met their teachers and learned the expectations for the next school year. Families also got to stop into the cafeteria to get some pizza, grab a few books, and make some cool "calm down" tools with the guidance counselors. What a fantastic turnout! #ACES #BCS
