In Katie Wilson’s English as a Second Language (ESL) class at Avery’s Creek Elementary, students were excited to dive into their projects about famous Hispanic American figures. Each student chose a historical figure to research, such as Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, and Frida Kahlo.
Students were tasked with creating informative and visually appealing slideshows about the person of their choosing. Each project depicted important information about the subject's life, including how they became famous. The project not only deepened their knowledge of their culture, but also fostered a greater appreciation for diversity and history.
