BCS families and teammates, thank you for all of your efforts at home and in the community to recover from the devastation of the hurricane. Our hearts continue to be with you.
We want to let you know Buncombe County Schools will remain closed until it is safe to open. That will require power and water restored to our buildings. We are grateful to the repair crews who are working hard to make that happen. However, there is substantial work to be done. To help families plan, we will give you adequate notice when we know a date when it is safe for Buncombe County Schools to reopen.
Please continue to take care of yourself and your family. Our theme for this year is “Together We Rise” - and recovering for this storm will demonstrate that. Thank you so much!

Please continue to take care of yourself and your family. Thank you, ACES families.

Based on the Hurricane's tremendous impacts to our families and neighborhoods, the decision has been made to close all Buncombe County Schools for the entire week, Monday Sept. 30 through Friday Oct. 4. These will be annual leave days for staff. In the days, weeks, and months ahead, the school system is committed to continue supporting our families and staff. We hope you and your family continue to be safe. We'll continue to keep you updated as our team works to safely reopen our schools. Thank you.

Attention Bus Riders! This week, September 23-27, is Bus Ridership Week! Each year, the state determines transportation funding for school districts by how many students ride the bus to and from school. If your student is assigned to a bus, please be sure they ride this week as much as possible. We appreciate your support in helping secure funding for bus transportation!

Last week many of our Kindergarten students got a "Jump Start" into the new year! Students were invited to attend our Kindergarten Jump Start event where they met other students, spent time with our Kindergarten teachers, engaged in activities and play, and became familiar with our school. We are so excited to see ALL of our students when we start the 24-25 school year next week!
Don't forget to stop by this Thursday between 1:00 and 3:00 to Meet the Teacher!

We're halfway through Summer Reading Camp! Students from the Roberson district in 2nd and 3rd grade have been working HARD these past couple of weeks. They've fine-tuned their phonics skills, studied main ideas of texts, strengthened their reading fluency, engaged in collaborative tasks, and had FUN! Thank you to the staff who are making this experience a success!

The 2023-2024 school year has come to an end. It has been amazing to watch the students grow over the past year. While we are excited for summer, it is always bittersweet to finish the school year and say goodbye to old friends. Congratulations, Amy Romagnuolo on your retirement! We will miss you! Have a great summer ACES family! #bcs #ACES #ramfam
