The beats were heavy and the steps precise, as students hit all the high notes at the 51st annual Land of the Sky Marching Band festival. The event, hosted by Enka High School, took place Saturday, Sept. 27.

Color guard and flute players in full band uniform play on the field. The festival is the largest of its kind in our area and featured more than 30 bands, including an exhibition from the Enka Jets Marching Band and a spirited performance from Western Carolina University’s “Pride of the Mountains” band. The event helps provide instruments and scholarships for the Enka band program.
