Students from six district high schools gathered for a Career Readiness Day hosted at the Goodwill Training Center in Asheville, where they participated in a plethora of job preparation activities.

Throughout the event, students engaged in sessions designed to teach essential career skills, including how to apply for jobs, workplace etiquette, professional attire, and communication strategies. The event offered students hands-on opportunities to prepare for life after high school in a supportive real-world environment.

To wrap up the day, students competed in a Family Feud-style game show led by BCS Chief Communications Officer and former radio host Ken Ulmer. The game tested students’ knowledge of what they had learned during the day, with each school team vying to buzz in with the correct answers.

T.C. Roberson High School ultimately took home the trophy after edging out the competition in the final round. Students from all schools showed enthusiasm and teamwork, making the event both educational and entertaining.
