Before summer break, Charles D. Owen High School (OHS) hosted its annual career fair, which provides students a firsthand look at a wide variety of career opportunities. The event brought together local professionals, business owners, public service workers, college representatives, and technical program leaders, all eager to share insights about their industries.

Held in the school gymnasium, the fair was full of future possibilities as students explored booths, asked questions, and gathered information about everything from healthcare and education to construction, law enforcement, and owning a business. Many vendors brought hands-on displays or interactive demos, giving students a chance to try out tools, technology, and equipment used in the field.

The event also highlighted the value of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offered at OHS. Many students were able to connect their current CTE coursework to future job opportunities.

The career fair was made possible through partnerships with local businesses, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, and community organizations. It stands as a shining example of how schools and the community can work together to shape the future of young people.
