Class Dojo and Class Rewards

We use Class Dojo for positive behavior reinforcement, communication, and class rewards.

Every other Friday our Class Dojo store opens and students are able to use the points they have earned to purchase things. Students look forward to this time and is a very exciting day. This also helps reinforce several standards that we teach in second grade including, addition and subtraction and saving, spending, and earning money.

Many of the prizes are coupons for rewards (wear slippers to school, eat lunch with a friend from another class, wear sunglasses in class, bring a stuffed animal, one night free homework pass, and more). If your child ever purchases a reward coupon to use I will let you know that your child is allowed to bring a stuffed animal, sunglasses, etc. If your child comes home and says that they are allowed to do something "special" and you have not heard from me please send me a message to make sure.

Students can also buy larger prizes for varying levels of cost. Some of these prizes include small erasers, fancy pencils, rewards that are purchased from Scholastic Book Club teacher points, small toys, and more. Some prizes are worth more dojo points and therefore helps reinforce and teach the idea of saving for a larger item or spending for a less valuable item right now.

Every other week we add their current points to their Dojo Debit Card and they begin at zero points for the following week. You can still see the feedback that points were earned or lost for throughout those two weeks.

If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask!
