Back to school image Welcome, students and parents! We’re looking forward to a new school year full of opportunities. The first day of school, August 23, is quickly approaching and we want to be sure you have the information you need for a smooth and safe start this fall.

Please see below for important back-to-school information, but feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions. Our school’s office is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please don’t hesitate to visit or call 828-654-1810 with any and all questions. We’re here to help!

Meet the Teacher
You are invited to our Meet the Teacher event on August 20. We will host students with the last name A-L from 1:00-2:30 and students with the last name M-Z 3:00-4:30. It will be an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and learn about our school, daily activities, and more! It’s also a great opportunity to ask your questions in person. (For the safety of our teachers, students, and families, protective face coverings will be required.) We look forward to seeing you and your student!

Students may be dropped off using the second entrance on Park South Blvd starting at 7:15 a.m. Our school day begins promptly at 7:50 a.m and ends at 2:30 p.m. Students may be picked up beginning at 2:30 using the second entrance on Park South Blvd (same as the morning).

If your student will ride the bus, please be sure you’ve signed up to ride the bus with Ms. Wallin, Assistant Principal. Bus numbers and pick up/drop off times will be communicated at Meet the Teacher.

School Meals
Due to USDA meal cost waivers for the 2021-2022 School Year, breakfast and lunch meals will be available daily to all students at no cost.

Planning to pack your lunch?
Did you know that even if you send your child to school with lunch they can receive fresh fruits, vegetables, and milk from the cafeteria for free? The current USDA waiver allows all students to enjoy healthy meal components to supplement meals brought from home this school year, for free! To qualify, students must select three of the five meal components offered for lunch and one must be a fruit or vegetable. This is a great opportunity to ensure your child receives a healthy, balanced lunch, and it is a great way to help you save money when packing lunches from home!
